#SharkStrong pop-up store

Opening soon: #SharkStrong pop-up store in de Hallen, Amsterdam!

A project by www.saveoursharks.nl to celebrate the beauty of sharks.

Worldwide over 100 million sharks are killed every year in fisheries and by the destruction of precious marine habitat. Recent studies show that one in four shark species is now threatened with extinction, and some populations have declined by 90%. Working with fishermen, scientists, and local communities, the Save Our Sharks project works on creating safe havens for sharks and rays in the Dutch Caribbean.

By buying a product at the #SharkStrong pop-up store you are celebrating the beauty and importance of sharks with us.

Fair & Green Design

On Friday the 11th of March I started the first of four training sessions called Fair & Green Design by Dutch Design in Development. (www.ddid.nl)

In this training Stella van Himbergen, with the aid of fair trade and green entrepreneurs, gives a valuable insight in how to connect social and sustainable design with production techniques, and business models.

This training will hopefully help Studio Mola Mola to create and produce socially responsible end eco-friendly products.

Contest winner Stoffn.de!

Today I won what I think is my very first contest ever! Every month the website www.stoffn.de hosts a contest for fabric pattern design. I use this website to print my pattern designs on fabric. Last month the theme for the contest was Japan. I love Japanese illustrations and patterns and I always wanted to do my interpretation of the Japanese wave. I have more fabrics in the same theme. More on that another time.
